Structural Sprawl – MANGA MIYAKO DISTORTION Collection
Structural Sprawl – MANGA MIYAKO DISTORTION Collection
Product Description
The city expands endlessly, becoming an uncontrolled structure.
Structural Sprawl is a textile design based on manga-inspired linework,
reconstructing a dystopian cityscape (MIYAKO) by referencing urban structures found in Japanese manga background art.
This work focuses on urban “sprawl” —
a condition in which planning and collapse coexist,
as architecture, piping, machinery, passages, and layered systems intertwine and expand without restraint.
The densely detailed pen-drawn city lines preserve a sense of structural weight and compression,
while layered color expressions visualize the city’s noise, heat, density, and tension.
Although static as a textile, the composition guides the viewer’s gaze through complex depths,
creating a visual sensation of being absorbed into the city itself.
This artwork is available in 6 color variations.
Each colorway significantly alters the atmosphere of the city,
allowing selection based on concept or intended application.
Designed primarily for fashion textiles,
this work is also suitable for interiors, wallpaper, and art panels,
as well as contemporary digital applications such as digital art, illustration, 3D works, games, avatars,
metaverse environments, virtual fashion, and digital costume design.
